What languages are taught?

The French and Spanish programs at MVA provide opportunities for students to develop reading, writing and speaking skills from beginner to advanced levels. We utilize games, plays, songs, cooking and many other fun activities to help develop practical written and spoken language skills.

Do children participate in Field Trips?

Throughout the year students at MVA experience numerous fun opportunities to visit a variety of sites that positively enrich their academic studies. The hands on elements that our students are able to experience is a major benefactor to their ability to internalize the lessons they have been taught. It is an exciting and helpful part of fulfilling our mandate of teaching to all learning styles.

Does the school offer any Extra-Curricular Activities?

Learning at Mountain View Academy does not only occur in the classroom. Our curriculum is augmented by a variety of after school and lunchtime activities. Activities may include chess, recorder, drama, soccer, art, science club, computer programming, yearbook and cross-country running. We also compete against other schools in volleyball, soccer, basketball, as well as track and field. Students are encouraged to participate, learn, and most of all have fun. Our year is also accented with special activities such as our annual hike, a school overnight, Masquerade, Sports Day, etc.

How does MVA promote parent communication and involvement?

Mountain View Academy believes in providing the student and parent bodies of the school ample opportunity to speak with Teachers and Administration regarding any concern they have. Parents are also provided with the opportunity to directly interact with the performance of the school and are recognized as the primary educators of their children. Parent volunteers are always welcome!

• • Social and economic equality are rigorously promoted at MVA, beginning with school uniforms. With uniforms the students feel they are a part of the larger group and form positve bonds, as well as self-esteem.  
• High Morals, Values and Respect. Students, staff and relatives all work together to model these qualities, making them an everyday way of life.
• Major Winter and Spring musicals or drama performances. All students from the youngest to the oldest are given opportunities to participate, whether it's on stage or behind the scenes. Family and friends are then invited to these amazing productions!
